Default Daily Quests

Yes, I'm blatantly stealing an idea from WoW, but it might be as effective in GW as it is in WoW. I'm being helpful, for once. It doesn't take way too much effort to program as some other suggestions on these forums.

For reference, you can only do 10 Daily quests per day in WoW. (reseting somewhere around midnight). However, the Daily Quests reward ridiculous amounts of money and reputation, among other things. (150g/day is very helpful when you are trying to get a 5000g epic mount!)

The daily quests introduced in the latest patch entice players to do certain, random dungeons for massive benefits.

Therefore, if ArenaNet wanted to lessen the dependence on Farming, they could implement such quests.

I suggest 2 in Prophecies (no rep bonus, but probably a 25% increase in rewards), 2 in Factions (1 for Kurzick/Luxons), 2 in Nightfall (Sunspear/Lightbringer), and 5 in GWEN (1 for each faction).

Each daily quest could be any type of quest, monster hunt or collection would suffice.

I suggest a limit of 10 daily quests per account to prevent abuse (in WoW, it's per character, but the character growth in WoW is a lot slower to compensate. In GW, character growth is a lot less)

The rewards could probably be 1,500 EXP, 1000 gold, and 500 Reputation for the faction, resulting in 10k daily gold.

While it's much, much lower than the results of normal farming, it's more fun and more practical to those without masochistic tendencies.

Good suggestion, but do you expect the quests to be changed on a daily basis?

Maybe they're on a rotation?

It seems like a lot of maintenance if the quests are changed daily.

This is a very nice idea, although since GW is promoted as a casual game maybe weekly quest would seem more appropriate i dont know

Hey Zinger, nice work. I like this idea alot. Anything to promote quests as a replacement for grinding is A-OK with me.

I like it. I dont care where the source of the idea comes from. Anything to give us more viable options than the usual monotony related to farming is appreciated.

A good idea coming from Zinger... The world must be ending...

Anyway if they were to do something like this it would actually be worth logging in anymore. =/

The idea is they're random. So they have some kind of algorithm that generates these quests.

E.g. the Ebon Vanguard it looks at all the foes in Ascalon/Charr homelands and says, collect X of this item, or kill X of these, X of these and X of these. Each day it can be different.

I somewhat took WoW's idea and changed it a bit to fit the current GW event setting here:

YEY.

At Uni now so only get small amout of play time and even 2ish hours a week is boring when you have to farm, but in those 2 hours i could do basically the same farming of foes but with a slight story behind it
I liked this idea, and the bounty hunt i seem to remember where each land had a bounty on a boss, or maybe i made that up in a dream or a coma i fell into while farming

Anyway /signed

EDIT : I like the reward amounts too, lots more CAN be made farming but this gives you a choice to do something less dull albeit for less cash

Yeah! It reminds me of my old 'random quests' idea, but it's better, since it givs more cash, XD

Even if they were 1 per day instead of 10, it would still be great.

Now that you mention it, I remember something like this in Anarchy Online.

sigh if only gw had a few tradeskills it would definently cut back the farming grind so we can just craft our own items.
